Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at Berburry Bed & Breakfast in Torquay, I had a delightful culinary experience that truly stood out. Upon arrival, Wendy and Steve welcomed us warmly and immediately made us feel at home—with a slice of homemade cake and chilled water! The dining area had an inviting, house-party vibe, making it a relaxed space for breakfast. The award-winning menu featured local West Country ingredients that were beautifully presented. I indulged in their Eggs Royale, which might just be the best I’ve ever tasted—a truly delightful blend of flavors and textures. After breakfast, I enjoyed a light evening drink at their honesty bar, thoughtfully stocked with a range of options. The leafy gardens provided a lovely backdrop, adding to the overall comfort of the stay. Just a short stroll to the seafront, Berburry serves as an ideal base to explore the vibrant Torquay dining scene. The personal touches from Wendy and Steve made our visit memorable, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to fellow food enthusiasts. I’ll certainly be back!
